आँखों के परदों पे प्यारा सा जो था वो नज़ारा
धुआँ सा बन कर उड़ गया अब ना रहा
बैठे थे हम तो ख्वाबों के छाँव के तले
छोड़ के उनको जाने कहाँ को चले
कहानी ख़तम है
या शुरुआत होने को है
सुबह नयी है ये
या फिर रात होने को है
आने वाला वक़्त देगा पनाहें
या फिर से मिलेंगे दो राहें
खबर क्या, क्या पता
Today, no metals clang or crush, no leathery soles trample me,
under the amaltas bough’s rustling umbrella,
the cuckoo coo's a shrill melody,
I take an unhurried flower shower,
flaky petals scrub my cheeks,
embalm my battered body
refreshing it with the fragrance!!
and drape me head to toe
in its flowy robes
