In my kitchen, through the vantage window,
Unhindered, I watched the world in it’s lingo,
The sun rays played peek a boo through the panes,
Sunbirds sucked the nectared flowers with great pains!

I savoured the aroma of the freshly ground coffee bean,
While a fat lady wobbled around briskly to become lean,
With three sticks, street kids gleefully played cricket,
And hands went up in the air at the fall of the wicket!

School kids with ribbons red, waved, and walk past in a rush,
And women gossiped, through the peepholes in a hush,
Urchins hopped the gate to steal the badam fruit,
And the watchman chased them off, he’s a brute!

A mother caressed and fed her child with a smile,
A wife scowled, her husband needed fresh air for a while?
With a furtive glance, a girl met her boyfriend,
Love was in the air here and somewhere love was at its end?

Oh yeah, every glance, frown or a nod, I do not miss,
I understand it all, the cattiness and the kiss,
Alone, in the miffed silence across my lobes,
Unhindered, I watched the world through my eye strobes!
